Roots & Revival Returns for Fourth Year, Bringing Black Art and Culture to the Heart of Miami Gardens During Miami Art Week

The independently produced cultural showcase celebrates Black creativity, community, and the artists shaping South Florida's cultural landscape.

MIAMI GARDENS, FL | October 27, 2026 Miami Art Week is known for bringing artists, collectors, and art enthusiasts from around the world to South Florida. But in Miami Gardens, one annual celebration is making sure Black artists and their communities have a place in that conversation.

On Wednesday, December 2, 2026, Roots & Revival returns for its fourth year at Co-Space, a Black-owned coworking and creative studio in Miami Gardens. Described as “Our Love Letter to Black Culture,” the event brings together local artists, live poetry, music, interactive experiences, food, and the nostalgic energy of an old-school neighborhood block party.

Founded by Co-Space owner Joy St. Clair, Roots & Revival was created to make art more accessible while providing Black creatives with opportunities to showcase their work, connect with audiences, and generate income.

The event made history as the first official Art of Black Miami event held in Miami Gardens, later expanding through a partnership with the City of Miami Gardens. This year, Roots & Revival returns home to Co-Space as an independently produced celebration, continuing its mission of centering Black art and cultural expression.

“I wanted to create something that felt like us,” said St. Clair. “Not everybody connects with traditional art galleries, but everybody deserves to experience and appreciate art. Roots & Revival brings that experience into our community in a way that's familiar, welcoming, and unapologetically Black. It's about celebrating our culture while creating real opportunities for the artists who help shape it.”

Last year's celebration welcomed more than 260 attendees, with approximately 300 expected this December.

The 2026 experience will feature local Black visual artists exhibiting and selling their work, live poetry curated by Calvin & "the Cuzzins", music from DJ S.O.S., crafted signature cocktails by fan-favorite mixologist, Nancy of Upgrade Your Party, interactive creative experiences, food vendors, and opportunities for attendees to connect with artists and one another.

Unlike traditional art exhibitions, Roots & Revival encourages guests to engage with art in a relaxed, community-centered environment. For St. Clair, the event is also a reflection of Co-Space's broader mission: creating spaces where Black entrepreneurs, artists, and creatives can connect, collaborate, and feel at home. “There was a time when you could just come outside and find your people,” St. Clair added. “The music, the conversations, the creativity, the sense of community. We're bringing some of that feeling back, while reminding people that Black art belongs at the center of Miami Art Week, too.”

Roots & Revival has previously attracted local media attention and continues to grow as a cultural gathering in Miami Gardens. Businesses and organizations interested in supporting Black art and culture are also invited to explore sponsorship, product partnerships, and on-site brand activations.
