About the event

Join Councilwoman Katrina Baskin, Seat 1, for the Inaugural Miami Gardens Book Fair! On Saturday, April 18th, we are transforming the Betty T Ferguson amphitheater into a vibrant hub of stories, culture, and community. This is a celebration of the brilliance and diversity that defines Florida’s largest predominantly Black city.


Whether you're a lifelong book lover, a parent looking to inspire your child’s next big dream, or just looking for a day of local food and fun, there is a seat at the table for you.

    Join our "Author Alley." This ticket includes one (1) 6ft table, two chairs, and a listing in our digital event guide. Share your work, sign books, and connect directly with the Miami Gardens community. Levels: - Author Sign-Up: includes table in Author Alley - Featured Author: includes table in Author Alley, on-stage interview & opportunity for live book reading on stage or on satellite stage

    • Small Business/Artisan Vendor

      Showcase your brand, crafts, or services to 300+ local residents. Includes a designated 10x10 space with a 6-ft table and 2 chairs. Vendors must provide their own tent.

    • Food Truck / Food Vendor

      Feed the community! Secure a spot for your food truck or catering tent. This ticket covers your dedicated space in the "Literacy Cafe" food court area.

    • Volunteer Signup

      Give back to Miami Gardens! Sign up for a morning (9 AM–1 PM) or afternoon (1 PM–5 PM) shift. Tasks include greeting guests, assisting authors, and managing activity zones. A great opportunity for student community service hours!

    • Request to Host An Activation

      Requires organizer approval: For non-profits, wellness organizations, or educational groups looking to host an interactive station (e.g., face painting, health screenings, or workshops). Does not allow for the sale of goods. We will reach out to you to discuss your activation in greater detail.
